Abstract
Depression and anxiety are one of the main problems of health care system and also have coherence with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this investigation is to determine the associations of emotional state and functional indicators of the cardiovascular system in physically active female students.Participants. The study sample consisted of 115 female students. The students were grouped into: a group of students attending aerobic classes – sporting group (age 22,2 ± 2,3 years, n=66) and a group of physically inactive students, i.e. not exercising regularly and not having a purposeful physical activity – non-sporting group (age 21,7 ± 2,1; n=49). Methods. Electrocardiography. Technical hard-ware of long term ECG observation system consists of an equipment of 40×55×10 mm size, 19 g weight ECG register, which is comprised of the disposal five electrode tape to register two bipolar ECG derivations, developed by the company „PicoMed“ (Germany), and the special equipment for read-out of data. ECG parameters were registered during 24-hours over different period of time: in the morning, in the evening and at night. HAD scale (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale – HADS) was used for emotional state evaluation. Results. Mean score of anxiety symptoms expression in sporting students (4.97 ± 0.27point) was considerably lower, compared with non-sporting (6.5 ± 0.38 point) (p <0.05). The correlation analysis of the sporting group students data showed the presence of the weak negative statistically confident relationships between anxiety symptoms score evaluation and JT interval duration in the morning (r = –0.25; p<0.05). The results of the non-sporting students data analysis showed that statistically confident moderate positive relationship was determined between anxiety expression score evaluation and R wave amplitude registered at night (r=0.338; p<0.05). The univariate logistic regressi [...].
